Our Story
I have always enjoyed art in many ways, and I love the feeling it gives to be able to create with your hands.
As a child I loved to mould dishes and animals with clay, we grew up swimming in The River Rother. We had a static caravan at The Witterings, West Sussex and I was obsessed with going to the beach, collecting sea glass, pebbles, stones and shells of all kinds. My imagination would run wild with the stones and shells in all their different colours and shapes. We spent rainy days in the caravan painting or drawing on the stones and then taking them back to the beach for someone to enjoy our drawings later.

I grew up with my mum forever creating beautiful things for our home. I would watch her make new curtains, re-upholster furniture and re-decorate our kitchen. Her favourite colour seemed to be yellow. I would get to have a play with any off cuts of material, one year i made a (very terrible) dolphin from blue velvet.
My mum made me and my brothers each a bean bag for our bedrooms, I had a sloped roof in one half of my bedroom where I made a reading nook. I adored spending hours of my time there reading, drawing, listening to music and writing poems. I would decorate the sloped ceiling with draped colourful sarongs and make colourful things to hang from the ceiling to look at.
I learnt to finger knit and loved to create headbands in an array of colours using several colours of yarn held together. Sometimes I wore them as chunky necklaces.
In later years I learnt how to crochet through patient teaching by my Nanny Mary and good friend Kelly with help also from 'Bella Coco Crochet' on YouTube. I was then totally hooked. I have dabbled a little in knitting too, but I loved to crochet more.

Our brand name was created when my love for making Amigurumi animals began. I made an Otter as a Christmas present in secret for my boyfriend, and then made a Zebra. When I finished the Zebra I hugged it with so much love as it was absolutely adorable. My boyfriend said it looked like it was in a 'Pappoose' (a baby carrier) and I loved the sound of the name so it stuck. I hope you enjoy our website, follow us on social media to keep up to date on upcoming events and colourways.
Much Love xx Pamela
